Responsible for handling finished goods from assembly, i.e. weighing, dims, labeling and organizing shipment. Ensure all waiting-to-ship products are properly released and shipped per Rite-Hite's promised date and coordinate shipping releases for all Dubuque Opco’s to all F.O.B. locations.
Plan, assign and direct work of several shipping employees. Working supervisor who may occasionally need to load a truck.
Cubing up trucks, JDE review to coordinate by carrier, customer, etc.
Coordinates truck scheduling for pick ups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinate all transportation for product delivery by reviewing shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. This also includes post-shipment research to facilitate tracing requests, verify shipment dimensions/weights and proper description selection and any other issues that may arise.
Review carrier routings for agreement between mode of selected carrier and specific shipment dimensions and weight.
Review orders for possible product consolidation between Opcos
Serve as primary contact for carriers, internal Customer Service Representatives and external customers regarding product delivery.
Oversee policies/procedures and documentation of the waiting to ship inventory. This includes the proper creation of shipping releases, bills of lading and shipment notifications required by customer selected 3PLs.
Understand NAFTA and Global Compliance regulations. Work with International and Traffic departments to create and ensure accuracy of export documentation.
Plan, assign and direct work of shipping employees to include loading, recording and posting customer orders; and assisting inventory control on assigned items.
Coordinates with Final Assembly Supervisors to meet the shipping schedule
Ensures "world class" on time delivery performance.
Ensure accurate shipment of product while maintaining a balance flow of shipments during any given period of time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a general knowledge of manufacturing procedures, material identities, part relationships and production department functions.
